Description: The 1977 Lincoln Continental Convertible represents one of the most exclusive and unique chapters in American luxury motoring.

By the late 1970s, full-size convertibles were rapidly disappearing from production, making examples like this incredibly uncommon. It is widely believed that only a very small number of these vehicles were produced as convertibles at Ford’s request — with some sources suggesting as few as five, and others estimating between eight and ten worldwide. One example is even rumoured to have been intended for former US President Jimmy Carter.

This particular vehicle was imported into Australia in 2010 and has remained in storage since, contributing to its low recorded mileage of 18,631 miles. Finished in blue with a white interior, it captures the unmistakable presence and scale of classic American luxury.

Powered by the 460ci (7.5L) V8 and paired with the C6 automatic transmission, it delivers the smooth, effortless driving experience these vehicles were known for. The car runs and drives, and the electric convertible roof is functional, but is weak and requires some assistance.

Presented as a partial restoration, the vehicle offers a solid foundation with some finishing work remaining. A few of the window switches operate intermittently, the passenger window glass is missing and the roof mechanism would benefit from a service and minor adjustment to bring it to its best condition.

With its rarity, history and presence, this is a unique opportunity to secure an exceptionally uncommon convertible — ideal for collectors or enthusiasts looking for something truly different.
